WHO IS THAT?

By Miss Dunne,

I review the footage from the camera team occasionally. Mostly because I don't want anyone painting my students in a light I wouldn't paint them myself. Well, while watching a clip of our deeply uncomfortable icebreaker session, I paused.

Not because of Luke faintly smiling as Kris tells her story or to see how good I look in a blue suit. No. Because, in the shot barely in focus, behind the doorframe was a man. Standing still pressed up against the glass door frame watching the group. I hadn’t seen him that day. None of us had noticed him watching us. Not Rick. Not Faith. Not even Kris, who notices everything and once told me she could identify ghosts based on drafts in the hallway.

He wasn’t outside the classroom window. He wasn’t passing by. He was just there. Staring. Like a very chill but deeply unnerving painting. I took a screenshot and zoomed in. Hoodie. Black. Expressionless.

Now I’m a rational person. I don’t jump to theories.

But could that be the person kris was describing in her story? Could that be Jake? or could it be a secret investigator sent by my bosses to check if I am doing my job?

Add a heading for each step of your recipe. Headings pop out to your readers and keep them scrolling down the page. Break the process down into short, clear steps. I’ve never met Jake. Only Kris has. But apparently, if that really is Jake, then Jake has met us....

And now I can’t stop thinking: Was he there the whole time? How long was he watching? And did he know we were filming? Honestly, I don’t want answers. I just want thicker blinds and a larger security budget on campus. The students don’t know. I’m not telling them. Like a super hero or a mom, It's my job to protect them. Wish me luck.
